For those who have the courage and resources to challenge the environmental opposition, I’d like to bring to their attention a potential new mining district in Montana that was suggested by an exploration project of The Bunker Hill Company about 30 years ago. We definitely got their undivided attention with our presentations. As a direct result of our presentations, the Desert Advisory Council recommended a Memorandum of Understanding be put together between the council and the Rand Mining District. This MOU was recently completed.

A proposed silver and copper mine that would burrow under a wilderness area in northwestern Montana will not affect bull trout, nor will it harm grizzly bears so long as some additional precautions are taken, federal wildlife authorities said.
