Collecting Garnets in Wyoming

In Wyoming, garnets are often common where aluminum-rich (micaceous) rocks have been highly metamorphosed. Such rocks are recognized by abundant black (biotite), silver (muscovite), or green (chlorite) mica with periodic grains of red garnet.Melman on Gold & Silver
