Sandstone Silver in Texas

Sandstone silver deposits are found at several places near Van Horn, West Texas. The region is in the Basin Range province, which is characterized by low mountain ranges separated by broad desert valleys. Most of the region receives less than 10 inches of rain per year, barely enough to support scrubby desert vegetation. Van Horn (Pop. 3,000) is 121 miles, by highway, east of El Paso.Our Readers Say
